It’s always sad to see a beloved local business close its doors, but sometimes it’s simply out of the owner’s control. Such is the case with Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks in Los Angeles, which is set to close at the end of the month after 28 years in business. The company is still run by founder and CEO Tony DeGrazier, and the original location features prominently on Islands’ own website. Word from management is that the owner of the building has decided to raise the rents, and DeGrazier made the decision in response to simply shutter his first-ever Islands restaurant. We’re sure the other locations will continue to thrive, but this is a real loss for the community.

Nugget Markets is off to a great start in 2021 with the opening of their new facility at the Ace Hardware center. The 14,000 square foot facility is a great addition to the center and will help Nugget Markets continue to be a top company to work for.
Why is Taps Irvine closed
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our Taps Fish House & Brewery in Irvine. This location has been a part of the Taps family for many years, and we are grateful for all the memories we have made here.
The pandemic has been a tough time for many businesses, and unfortunately we were not immune to its effects. We struggled to keep our doors open during these past few months, but a recent landlord dispute that could not be resolved has forced us to close permanently.
We want to thank all of our loyal customers and employees for their support during this difficult time. We will be deeply missed by our community, but we hope to see you at our other locations.
The closure of Walmart is yet another casualty of the pandemic. The store is under-performing and is simply another victim of the pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the employees and their families.
