It’s always sad to see a beloved local business close its doors, but sometimes it’s simply out of the owner’s control. Such is the case with Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks in Los Angeles, which is set to close at the end of the month after 28 years in business. The company is still run by founder and CEO Tony DeGrazier, and the original location features prominently on Islands’ own website. Word from management is that the owner of the building has decided to raise the rents, and DeGrazier made the decision in response to simply shutter his first-ever Islands restaurant. We’re sure the other locations will continue to thrive, but this is a real loss for the community.<\/p>\n

It is with great sadness that we announce the permanent closure of Islands restaurants in the Sacramento area. While a “Sacramento” page still exists on the chain’s website, the page lists no restaurants. It says the closest Islands location to Sacramento is in Monterey. Phone calls to both local Islands restaurants yielded no response. We want to thank all of our loyal customers for their support over the years.
